A Laugh In Stockport The Last Laugh
Thursday, 5 April 2018 | 7.45pm - 11.00pm
Well, this it it folks. The last ever comedy night at Seven Miles Out is almost upon us. We’ve loved bringing the funny to you in this amazing venue over the past few years – first as Mojo Bravo comedy nights, and then as the resurrected A Laugh In Stockport – and will sorely miss putting on shows in this quirky, vibrant, magical little place.
But before we go we’ve got one last brilliant gig to bring you. Dave Williams is a first class comic, one of the most respected on the circuit, with 20 years’ experience as a pro comic under his belt. He’s headlined comedy clubs all over the world – in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Australia, including a week headlining the Sydney Comedy Store – and even entertained troops returning from Afghanistan.
“Inspired one-liners punctuated with surreal nonsense.” Scotland on Sunday
“A fine, original comic mind; always surprising his audience with his wit.” Edinburgh Evening News
“Charming storyteller with a delightful grasp of silliness.” Manchester Evening News
Harry Stachini is our opening act, returning to ALIS after an excellent try-out spot last year where he impressed us with his easy-going style and great gags. (“brilliant stories and the unexpected one-liners that leaves them in stitches” – Manford’s Comedy Clubs)
In the middle bit David Stanier will be inviting us into his unique world of the silly and surreal, and Stockport’s own Mel Medford once again makes the short journey from the front row to the stage.
One of the joys of this latest incarnation of ALIS has been watching Danny Sutcliffe blossom into a fine compère. We were already well acquainted with his borderline sociopathic stage presence from his regular appearances at ALIS, so we always knew he’d fit right in here. x
