Sunday, 9 April 2017 | 12.00pm - 4.00pm
Join us on the second Sunday of every month for Strawberry Sundays in Seven Miles Out.
Sunday is the Strawberry Studios Vintage Village Fair at Stockport Market Hall and we will be continuing our series of social events called Strawberry Sundays every second Sunday of the month to celebrate the legacy of the town’s iconic Strawberry Studios.
We are teaming up with Peter Wadsworth, the historian who has been responsible for the resurgence of interest in Strawberry Studios and who created the #Strawberry50 exhibition at Stockport Museum. Peter will be doing a talk at 1.30pm about Strawberry Studios and its contribution to Manchester Music from 1976 onwards covering artists including The Buzzcocks, John Cooper Clarke and the work of legendary producer Martin Hannett for Factory Records.
Peter will also be joined by renowned writer and journalist Mick Middles, talking about the importance of Strawberry Studios and its impact on the Manchester music scene. Mick was born and brought up in Stockport and wrote the first ever book on The Smiths as well as many critically acclaimed books about other iconic Manchester bands including The Fall, Joy Division, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Elbow.
Join us from midday for a great afternoon of Strawberry Studios music and memories and treat yourself to our special offer of a glass of Prosecco or Rose Lemonade and a slice of strawberry gateau for a fiver!
Why not make a day of it by visiting the #Strawberry50 exhibition at Stockport Museum and Vintage Village here in Stockport Old Town!
